Brief Introduction
|
The Uttar Pradesh Fire Services is working under Uttar Pradesh Police and has its own Fire Service Act. The department is playing a vital role in saving the lives and property of people from fire apart from discharging preliminary role. It is an exceedingly important agency, and deserves strong support from Government and Society at large.The department is presently equipped with 241 Fire Stations and one Fire Extinguisher Training University.

Organizational Structure and Working
|
Fire Service department is headed by Director General of Police and has Addl. Director General of Police, Inspector General of Police and Dy. Inspector General of Police. The Head Quarter has Jt. Director (Tech.), Dy. Director (Tech.), Commandant (SFSTC) and Asst. Commandant (SFSTC). The district level has Superintendent of Police and Chief Fire Officer. At fire station level, the department has Fire Station Officer, Fire Station Second Officer, Leading Fireman/Fire Service Driver and Firemen.

Details of Approvals/NOCs/Clearances issued (under Nivesh Mitra)

The industry is divided into two categories:
a. Such industrial units where Building Plan is proposed
b. Such industrial units where Building has already been constructed
First of all, NOC is issued by the competent authority on receiving the building plan for new units. After construction of the building, the final NOC is issued only after completion of the proposed formalities is completed.

Entrepreneurs who shall apply for Approvals/NOCs/Clearances (under Nivesh Mitra)

In accordance with the Approval of plans [section-6 (1) & 12] of U.P. Factory Rules, 1950, sub-section G & section 61, the industries coming under the following category are required to obtain NOC/clearance certificate of fire extinguishing.
Ø Such buildings where the height is more than 15 meters
Ø Such other buildings which require fire safety measures

Method of applying for Approvals/NOCs/Clearances issued

Process for such industrial units where Building Plan is proposed:
Ø The entrepreneur has to submit the required building plan containing provisions made towards fire safety, site plan and elevation plan.
Ø The documents are examined by local fire fighting officers, who shall conduct a physical inspection of the site to verify the provisions made.
Ø Process for such industrial units where Building has already been constructed:
Ø The approved maps are examined by local fire fighting officers, who shall conduct a physical inspection of the site to verify the provisions made.
Ø In case the fire safety measures are found adequate, NOC is issued.
